Kelly Choi at Windfall Farm

Kelly Choi stopped by the stand recently to ask us if she could use our chicken coop for a photo shoot. The article ran in New York Magazine's Restaurant section of its website. Kelly is seed holding one of our Araucana Chickens, from which we receive incredibly delicious eggs in a green shell.

We used the term "organic" to describe Windfall Farms before the United States Department of Agriculture began its national organic certification program. It set a lower standard than the original certifiers, allowing large industrial farms to be called "organic" while maintaining many unethical agricultural and labor practices. We no longer endorse the term, but still endorse many organic farms and organizations that hold themselves to higher standards.

We suggest you don't trust the term "organic" to mean you are getting any combination of local, fresh,poison-free food, which incidentally is what we grow and sell.
